In this fast paced world where communication with your friends, relatives, colleagues etc. is changing at a rapid speed, one has to be aware of all these changes in order to walk with the crowd. Out of all the mode of communications on internet, social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Orkut and Twitter stand out.
While the first three are more of a traditional networking sites, Twitter, on the other hand, is different basically because of its method of using. For those unfortunate people, who don’t know what twitter is, let me brief you all about it.

Twitter is used by pretty much everyone these days. You’ll find all the major celebrities there on Twitter, from Miley Cyrus to Oprah Winfrey to Priyanka Chopra. It is popular because it’s very easy to communicate with others due to its sms like system.
Twitter, by default, is very easy to use through its web interface but there are always softwares available to make your life more easier and that’s why I’m writing this post. I’ve compiled a little list of 5 must have applications for twitters. So, there you go.
1. DestroyTwitter
DestroyTwitter is a compact though robust Twitter application built to run on Mac, Windows, and Linux. It consists of a series of canvases that constantly update to keep tweets up-to-date using notifications that appear when a new tweet arrives.
2. Twhirl
Twhirl is a social software desktop client, based on the Adobe AIR platform and runs on Windows and Mac. You can shorten urls, upload pictures to TwitPic and it displays notifications for new messages.
3. TweetDeck
TweetDeck is your personal browser for staying in touch with what’s happening now, connecting you with your contacts across Twitter, Facebook and more. TweetDeck shows you everything you want to see at once, so you can stay organised and up to date.
4. Novasoft Tweetie
Tweetie is a simple desktop based software that lets you unfollow those twitter users who you are following, but aren’t following you back.
5. TwitterFox
Use Firefox to manage your tweets and see when your friends have updated theirs through a small, unobtrusive notification button.
